Enhance pollinator biodiversity in La Junquera

To enhance pollinator biodiversity, we launched a new project that specifically focuses on how we can attract more wild bees to the farm.

Therefore, we are creating biodiversity islands: small natural areas with a diverse range of flowering plants and sufficient nesting opportunities for bees throughout the year. By combining wildflowers, grasses, (aromatic) shrubs, and nesting opportunities such as drilled wood pieces and hollow reed stems, a microhabitat is created that attracts and supports a wide range of pollinator species. These islands help improve land connectivity on the farm, allowing pollinators to move more easily between natural areas.

So far, two biodiversity islands have been created. Next year, we plan to create three more in collaboration with Impact Stay.
